Why you should choose our Cozies

What our customers are saying:

...your cozies make my tea. You should hear the oohs and ahhs when my guests see the teapots all dressed up! Karen P., Rosemary House B&B

...your cozies are the best selling single items in my gift shop. It seems that once my customers see the cozy at their  tea table, they want one to take home to recreate their experience at the tea room. Brenda G., Antiquiteas Tearoom

We use only the loveliest, high quality fabrics for our cozies.

Our lining fabrics are thoughtfully coordinated, and always of the same high quality as the showy side.

We use wide ribbons that, again, are thoughtfully coordinated to the cozy.

The ribbons ends are treated to prevent fraying even when laundered.

These cozies can be machine laundered!! They are so

well made that they have been known to survive years of service in the tearoom.

(see laundering instructions below)

We use ample batting, making sure that your tea will stay warm for hours.

Our unique design has a bottom, totally surrounding the teapot in quilted layers.

The sides are gathered, both to create extra insulating, and because it's so cute.

Their frills can dress up even the plainest teapot. They make a wonderful presentation on the tea table.

No wonder tearooms everywhere love to use our cozies for serving.

Once seen, they are a 'must have' for tea drinkers. Our cozies are best sellers in tearoom gift shops.

Our cozies are beautiful, and .... keep your tea warm for hours.

A lot of thought has gone into the design of our Classic Cozies, both our original, and our redesigned version.

The originals have a gusset to make them fit your teapot better.

They have a unique curved bottom. When on the teapot the bottom of the cozy makes contact with the tabletop along the whole edge. This prevents warmth from escaping

.... keeping your tea warm for hours.

Our redesigned Classic Cozy has been created with the same thought for functionality as our other cozies. The shape allows the cozy to sit flat on the table when covering the teapot,  and we have used extremely thick batting - both reasons this cozy will

...... keep your tea warm for hours.

How to take care of our Tea Cozies

We advertise that our Cozies are washable. We are NOT KIDDING! They launder extremely well.

Our Wrap-Around Cozies are MACHINE WASHABLE and MACHINE DRYABLE!!!

All of our cozies are washable, but some take more care than others. The Classic Cozies are made of home decorator fabric and therefore are a bit more delicate. They are washable, but please do so gently in cold water. All of our other cozies are washable.

Laundering our Wrap-Around Cozies

To launder the Wrap-Around Cozies, first deal with the ribbon. The ribbons are washable as we treat the ends to prevent fraying,  but they do tend to become tangled with each other in the washing machine. We recommend either removing them, or tying the ends together on each cozy to lessen the tangle. If you remove the ribbon use a bodkin, or a large blunt needle, or a large safety pin to re-thread into the cozy.

The only hard part is dealing with the ribbon. With that done, just machine wash the cozies in warm water, and machine dry on medium heat. If you are much more organized that we are, you can pull them out when they are just dried and you won't have any ironing to do. Otherwise just touch-ups with the iron at 'cotton' should be perfect.

Tea Stains

How are you going to get rid of those nasty tea stains? We've just found out:

"I just had to write you and tell you something I just tried with the cozies I have been using for service in my tearoom. They have gotten stained with tea- especially the lighter background ones.  One of my waitresses said she had heard of using Cascade dry dishwasher soap as a soaking agent for tea.  I brought them all home and filled my washer with the hottest water and an entire box of cascade.  Not the large box.  They soaked about an hour and the water got darker and darker with the tea.  The colors remained pure.  Then I spun out that water and filled it with new water and added Tide and ran a normal cycle.  They look almost new- I am so pleased!  It really works.  You might want to share that with other people. Have a good day, Susan Peterson Teaberry's Tea Room"

We passed this information on to all of our customers, and received many confirming testimonials to the excellent results of this method.

Another method from Jan at Scones: Soak cozies for an hour in warm water with a dish washing detergent, as in Pamolive, along with some OxyClean. Wash by hand,  then rinse. Hang dry or dry in the drying machine on a medium setting. Apparently this method keeps the colors bright and new.
